What is 5754 aluminum plate?

AW5754 aluminum alloy is a non-heat treatable aluminum alloy in the 5000 series Al-Mg (aluminium-magnesium) family. It is known for its excellent tread and anodized quality, weldability and corrosion resistance, its excellent machinability, corrosion resistance, high fatigue strength, high weldability and moderate static strength. So commonly used in tanker trucks.

Why is the 5754 aluminum plate suitable for tank trucks?

1. Tanker trucks must have a high degree of leak-proof performance to prevent leakage of liquid goods, so the processing performance of the material can be weldable has high requirements.

2. For tanker,both internal and external materials must have sufficient corrosion resistance to resist the transportation of liquid goods may produce corrosion. This and other systems and steel plate compared to 5754 aluminum plate has a higher corrosion resistance.

3. Aluminium plate is lightweight, and steel plate, the weight is lighter so it will be more fuel-efficient to save costs.

4. The aluminum alloy has good electrical conductivity, when a tanker truck collision occurs, the static electricity accumulates on the tank body very little, and therefore does not produce sparks, thereby reducing the occurrence of explosions and other accidents.
